Moab, Utah

Canyonlands National Park covers an impressive area of 337,598 acres in lower Utah. The Park is comprised of three districts including Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. Since we were staying in Moab and only had one day to spend at the park we visited the Island in the Sky district, which is also the most accessible and comprised of many beautiful overlooks and short trails.

The most popular highlights in this district include Mesa Arch, Grand View Point, and the Upheaval Dome. We visited this park in early June and the weather was HOT! It is a dry heat but the temperatures reached 100 degrees most days of our stay. To beat the heat we reached the park at 7:30 am and brought plenty of water and snacks.
